Today, Slovak consumer organisation and CLEAR-HP partner S.O.S. launched its collective purchase campaign for high-quality air-to-water heat pumps. This initiative allows homeowners to purchase heat pump devices that have achieved good results in independent comparative tests conducted by ICRT – International Consumer Research & Testing, partner of the project.

How it works

Slovak consumers can register for the group purchase at www.spolocnenakupy.sk. In early April, all registered participants will receive an offer and can then decide whether they wish to proceed with the purchase. Registration is entirely free and non-binding. 

It’s more than just a heat pump purchase 

To help consumers make an informed decision, S.O.S is organising five online educational workshops over the next coming weeks. Experts from Slovak Association for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps and Association of Mineral Insulation Manufacturers will provide insights into the most important aspects of purchasing and owning a heat pump: what needs to be considered before purchasing a heat pump, who can benefit from it, how to choose the right device, what affects its efficiency, and what financial incentives are available?

“A high-quality heat pump alone does not guarantee efficient energy use. For it to operate efficiently, proper conditions must be ensured. Before selecting a system, it is crucial to analyse the building’s heating needs and operating temperature regime. The fact is that electricity prices are rising every winter, and in the long run, we cannot rely on cheap electricity to power inefficient heat pumps,” explained Ing. Vladimír Orovnický, Chairman of the Slovak Association for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, and Heat Pumps.

The campaign is part of the CLEAR-HP project which was created to facilitate consumers’ access to heat pumps by guiding them throughout the whole purchasing journey. Stay tuned: the next campaigns in Bulgaria and Belgium will be launched soon.
