A new hotline for energy advice in Lithuania
A free consultation hotline for consumers experiencing energy poverty has been launched in Lithuania. This is particularly of use as consumers still cannot easily access face-to-face services due to the current restrictions.
The hotline was established by the Lithuanian Consumers Alliance as part of the Horizon 2020 project STEP (Solutions to Tackle Energy Poverty). “The aim of the line is to help vulnerable consumers find energy efficiency solutions for their homes.
“We expect calls from consumers who face difficulties with paying their electricity or heating bills and those who want to learn how efficient use of energy can help them live in higher thermal comfort”, says Kęstutis Kupšys, vice-president of the Lithuanian Consumers Alliance.
The Energy Advice Line’s number is 8 670 000 66 and it is open on weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm. Consumers only pay the standard rates according to their phone plan, while the consultation is provided free of charge.
