CLEAR-X project kicks off to help consumers participate in the green transition and save on energy bills
The CLEAR-X project has officially kicked off!
The EU-funded project (co-ordinated by The European Consumer Organisation, BEUC) will help consumers in six European countries (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia) to access household renewable energy technologies at an affordable price, through the provision of trusted information, collective purchase schemes and improved regulatory frameworks to help them save money on their energy bills.
Through the provision of consumer-friendly information on RES and EE technologies, this project aims to reach 38,000 consumers in Central and Eastern Europe and engage them in collective purchase schemes, designed to help them arrange the purchase and installation of these devices, specifically photovoltaic (PV) panels, heat pumps for heating and cooling, air-water heat pumps and heat pump tumble dryers.
The project has already been highlighted by European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen as an example of what the EU is doing to help people “reap the benefits of the energy transition” in a speech at the EU Sustainable Energy Week.
Consumers will have access to lab-tested products, selected installers, and a trusted third-party contact point throughout their purchase journey. This will help consumers access renewable energy and energy efficiency measures allowing them to make lasting savings on their energy bills and participate in the green transition.
