New campaign urges food industry to stop marketing to kids

Food companies must live up to their promises by ending the practice of marketing unhealthy food -to children. Otherwise regulation will be the only way forward to curb this pernicious practice that is fattening children’s waistlines. That is the main message of a new campaign called ‘Food marketing to children: game over?’ launched today by BEUC.

A broad group of civil society and consumer organisations as well as trade unions call on the EU’s trade ministers to reject the signature of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with Canada [1]. The trade ministers are gathering in Bratislava today and tomorrow to discuss the ratification of the CETA agreement.
